米を作っている保坂さんは、米作りは赤字だと話す。
人件費で相当なマイナス、機械があるから年寄りでもできるが、それにかかる費用も大きい。
保坂さんは花を生産して得た利益で、米作りを続けている。

米を分けて貰ってる人がいるんだけど、そこも利益は出てないって言ってた。
専業でやるなら、10反じゃぜんぜん足りなくて、20反ぐらいの規模がいるのかな。
だから北海道みたいに広いところか、あるいは新潟の魚沼みたいにブランドになってて単価が高いところじゃないとやってけない。
農家としては、農地を転用して利益を上げているところが多いけど、それは農業じゃないし。

ボランティアで作ってもらったお米を食べているというのが、日本の現実。
